EPIC PlayFair & Events

What Is EPIC PlayFair?

PlayFair is EPIC’s flagship inclusive event – a large, joyful space where:

● Children with and without disabilities can play together safely.

● Caregivers can learn, ask questions and connect with support.

● Providers can offer basic screenings, demonstrations and information in one place.

PlayFair brings the EPIC pathway to life in a child-friendly environment.

What Happens at PlayFair?

A typical PlayFair event includes:

  • Play zones – sensory play, creative arts, storytelling, sports and games adapted for different abilities.
  • Screening points – simple checks for vision, hearing, movement and developmental concerns, with gentle explanations for families.
  • Information booths – health, education and social services sharing what they offer.
  • Caregiver mini-sessions – short talks and discussions on supporting children at home and in school.
  • Referral desks – helping families book follow-up appointments at PHCs or hospitals.

The atmosphere is festive, safe and inclusive, not clinical.

Who Can Attend?

  • Children with disabilities and their siblings
  • Parents, guardians and extended family members
  • Teachers, school counsellors and caregivers
  • Health workers, social workers and community volunteers
  • NGOs, disability organisations and faith-based groups

Many activities are designed to be accessible and engaging for children who are neurodivergent or have sensory sensitivities.

Other EPIC Events

Beyond PlayFair, EPIC supports:

  • Training workshops for health workers and educators
  • Co-creation sessions with caregivers, community members and people with disabilities
  • Awareness campaigns in schools, markets, faith communities and digital spaces

These events strengthen the system that surrounds each child.
